Back to reality for this chika! A large group of friends and I just spent a nice long weekend ice fishing for lake trout on Gun Flint Lake! It was so much fun (in my other life I'm a total tomboy!) A much needed long weekend with no responsibility other than having fun! The downfall of having too much fun outside in this dry weather is dry skin! I know this ties into last weeks post but I cannot preach too much about the importance of hydrating!!!
Problem: Dry skin patches and cracks on my poor fingers and toes :(.
Solution: Manicure and Pedicure!!!
The best kind of problems to have are the ones that are so much fun to solve right!! Well we would love to have you in the shop to solve this for you. We use all Aveda scrubs, foot masques, oils and lotions to leave your hands and feet feeling soft as they would be if you didn't live in the north country! If you are like many people, you hold off on your mani/pedi until summer when you will A. see your cute polish color you stewed over choosing for an hour and B. when you decide to go on a vacation. The thing is, every time you shake someones hand, speak expressively with your hands or start limping because that crack in your heal is getting worse, you are making an impression on someone in your personal and professional world. Here is a just a small list of reasons why it is important to have these services done (keep this list handy for your when your husband asks, or just bring him too!)
1. Stress relieving
2. Good for circulation
3. Prevent and treat calluses and corns
4. Can help with swelling from sitting or standing all day
5. Trained professionals know how to properly trim nails to keep ingrown toenails at bay
The list can go on and on but lets just stop here and say its time to book your maintenance appointment. It should go on the list right next to oil change!
If you can't make it (I get it...business is on steroids right now) here are some at home maintenance ideas for when you have a free second at home!
1. Soak feet in a warm foot (or hand) bath, add some of Aveda's Stress Fix Soaking Salts to really take the edge off!
2. Use Aveda's Body Polish to remove any dead skin.
3. Finish with Aveda's Stress Fix Body Creme for the ultimate hydration (maybe ask your partner or kiddos to rub this in for a little circulation enhancing massage)!
Ok ladies (and gents, you do not have to get polish!) We can't wait to hear from you if you have any questions or comments! If you have a topic that you would like to hear about let us know and until next week...head north!!
